Who We Are:
We are a feel good, no nonsense, sometimes rebellious Pilates studio with a twist. Our instructors are internationally qualified and renowned, and aren’t afraid to have a bit of fun. Our classes are anatomically meticulous, intentional and challenging and our playlists are curated to propel you through class. We focus on beat and breath-driven movement, lifting your mood, heart rate and spirit! Everybody and every body is welcome.

Classes at The Lab:
How to book:
Bookings can be made via the MindBody app, or via this website on the Sea Point schedule/ Claremont schedule tabs (please take care when booking to ensure you book at the correct location). Bookings for our Mat, Barre, Fit Flow and Cardio Sculpt classes close 20 minutes prior to the start time.
How to pay:
-All payments can be made via our online store prior to your class. There are drop-in and package options available and you can pay via card/ SnapScan at checkout. Once we receive your order, it will be reconciled to your MindBody account and you’re ready to MOVE!
CANCELLATIONS
We have a 12-hour cancellation policy on all group classes. If you cancel your class less than 12-hours prior to commencement you will be charged the full amount of the class.
Cancelling a class on the MindBody app:
Click “profile” in the bottom right corner of your app. It will open onto your “schedule”, scroll to the class you’d like to cancel and click “cancel” next to the listing. You will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation if you’ve opted in to our emails.

Cancelling a class via the website:
Return to the schedule pages (Sea Point/ Claremont). Click “MY ACCOUNT”, on the right side of the screen. Login by entering your email and password that you used to book the class. Click the menu button on the right hand side, click “schedule”. Click “cancel” next to the class you can no longer attend. You will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation if you’ve opted in to our emails.
Before class:
Please notify your instructor of any medical considerations including past and present injuries, pregnancy or medication that might require exercise modifications. This can be done via email (info@themovementlab.co.za) ahead of class, so that we can ensure our class plan is tailored to your needs and safe for your contraindications.

Attending a class:
Doors for the class open 15-minutes prior to the class start time. Doors close promptly at the class start time and latecomers are not permitted.
What to bring to a Mat/ Barre/ Fit Flow/ Cardio Sculpt class:
Please bring a towel big enough to cover your mat + a sweat towel and water. We provide the mats and all the props you’ll need. Mat and Fit Flow classes are done barefoot. Trainers are optional in Barre and Cardio Sculpt classes.

What to bring to a Reformer/ Chair class:
Socks are compulsory on our Reformers and Pilates chairs for hygiene purposes. You will also need a sweat towel and water.
Contacting the studio:
We are not good on cell, as most of our instructors are in with clients/ classes most of the day, but we always have someone on duty manning our email address. If you have any questions/ feedback/ emergencies – please contact us on this address (info@themovementlab.co.za) and you can expect a speedy response!
