PRE & POSTNATAL CLASSES
All of our Matwork Fundamentals and Reformer/ Chair Plates Fundamentals classes are pre and postnatal friendly. Every instructor on our team is pre and postnatal qualified. Our Fundamentals classes happen at both our Sea Point and Claremont studios.
Pilates during your pregnancy helps to mitigate pelvic, SI Joint and lower back pain by strengthening your core and gluteal muscles. Our classes also help to optimise your posture and balance which takes strain during pregnancy due to the changing centre of gravity as the baby grows. Pilates encourages and teaches 3-dimensional diaphragmatic breathing, which is often restricted as the belly grows. These classes help you to develop a new routine during pregnancy and introduce you to a community of people who are dedicated to supporting you as you move through this journey.
If you have been attending our classes regularly prior to falling pregnant, you can continue with your regular schedule until you feel you need to switch over to the Fundamentals classes.
